Designed to complement the historic character of its San Marino setting, this 700-square-foot accessory dwelling unit reinterprets traditional Spanish architecture through a refined, contemporary lens. A soaring arched window anchors the main living space, filling the interior with natural light while establishing a strong visual connection to the surrounding landscape. Warm oak cabinetry, handcrafted finishes, and restrained detailing create a timeless palette that feels both authentic and inviting.

Despite its modest footprint, the home lives far larger than its square footage suggests. A thoughtfully integrated mezzanine expands the living space without compromising openness, while the dramatic volume of the main room reinforces a sense of generosity and light. Every element was carefully composed to create an ADU that feels less like a secondary structure and more like a fully realized home—respecting the architectural heritage of the primary residence while offering a fresh interpretation of California Spanish design.
